Progressive Reports $126 Million Increase in Second Quarter Income.

Jul. 18--Despite a large number of insurance claims due to floods and tornadoes, particularly in Texas and Mississippi, Progressive Corp.'s net income for the second ...uarter of 2003 rose by $126 million over the revenue for the same period in 2002.

Glenn M. Renwick, president and chief executive officer of the Mayfield Village-based auto insurance giant, attributed the feat to increased premium sales and cost reduction.
