Thai Insurance Companies Keen for Share of Low-Cost Coverage Business.

Jul. 23--The state-backed low-cost personal accident insurance plan will be launched at the beginning of September with 10 million people estimated to be covered initially.

The Ua-Arthorn insurance scheme, with premiums of one baht a day or 365 baht per year insurance plan is expected to lose 87.8 million baht for participating insurance companies in its first year of operations, but it is still attracting both life and non-life companies.
