Texas Tightens Grip on Homeowners Insurance.

Jun. 11--AUSTIN, Texas--Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday signed into law a trio of bills designed to bring homeowners insurance rates under regulatory control and improve the handling of mold and water claims.

Perry traveled to Temple, Midland and Amarillo for ceremonial signings of Senate Bill 14, the regulatory overhaul. He also signed House Bill 329, which makes Texas the first state to require mold remediators to be licensed and Senate Bill 127, which gives the Texas Department of Ins
