Kaiser Offers High-Deductible, Lower-Premium Plan in Northern California.

May 9--Kaiser Permanente began offering Northern California residents a new high-deductible health plan for individuals and families that could reduce monthly premiums by nearly 50 percent.

Under the $1,500 deductible plan, the lowest monthly premium would be $79 for an individual younger than 30. Previously, the lowest premium for that person was $153, but the deductible would be lower. The deductible is the amount the insured agrees to pay in a year before the insurance k
