California Employee Health Premiums Rise Sharply in 2003.

Mar. 17--The insurance premiums of Californians who get their health coverage through work jumped 15.8 percent in 2003, the biggest leap in four years, according to an annual survey of employers released Tuesday.

The increase was more than seven times the rate of consumer inflation, and it outpaced the 13.9 percent national rate of premium growth, according to the report, published jointly by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Tr
