LIFESTYLE diseases are among the biggest contributors to spiralling
medical claims encountered by insurance companies.
Common lifestyle diseases include gastro-intestinal and heart-related
cases, diabetes, cancer and obesity.
Integrated Healthcare Management (IHM) Sdn Bhd, a managed care
organisation (MCO), recorded 1,605 cases of gastro-intestinal diseases,
839 heart-related problems and 453 cancer cases last year.
