Nation's Largest Healthcare Agency to Implement Siebel eHealthcare
7 to Become Most Responsive Government Agency
Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL), the world's leading provider
CMS is the federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that runs the Medicare and Medicaid programs. As the largest health insurance company in the country, CMS' insured membership is also the largest of any health insurance organization in the United States.
As a step toward HHS achieving its stated goal of becoming the most responsive agency in the government, CMS is implementing Siebel eHealthcare 7 to serve as the backbone of a new service model that will improve communications between the agency, its beneficiaries, providers, and other stakeholders. Currently, CMS' call center uses multiple applications to service inquiries depending on customer needs. Beginning in July, CMS will roll out Siebel eHealthcare 7 to more than 70 of its call centers nationwide to provide its representatives with a unified application accessing all of the systems necessary to handle customer service needs. When the rollout is complete, more than 40,000,000 calls per year will be handled by the new Siebel eHealthcare 7 desktop.
With complete access to all data systems, customer service representatives will be able to more quickly and accurately service caller requests, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction. By providing a single point of access to multiple, complex information sources, standardizing on Siebel eHealthcare 7 will also ensure consistent adherence to policies across all of CMS' contact centers.
"Our goal is to provide callers with information that is accurate, reliable, and understandable. In support of this goal we are making many enhancements to our call center infrastructure and the way we manage our call centers in general. By implementing a standardized desktop application, we are taking the first of many steps that we expect will result in measurable improvements to the customer service we provide to our callers," said Neal Denion, director of the Division of Call Center Operations in CMS.
Siebel eHealthcare 7 will be integrated with multiple data centers, claims processing and government database systems. Based on the Siebel Smart Web Architecture, Siebel eHealthcare 7 delivers the industry's first and only zero-footprint, browser-based Web client, which provides high levels of interactivity previously available only from Windows desktop applications. Siebel eHealthcare 7 provides depth and breadth of functionality in sales, marketing, service, and other customer-touching business processes tailored specifically for the healthcare industry, resulting in faster deployments, high rates of end user adoption, and a rapid return on investment.
