Dec. 15--NEW LAW HAS ROLE IN RUNNING HOSPITALS: William E. Corley was an outsider when he was hired in 1984 to head Community Health Network. Now he's the longest-serving hospital CEO in Indianapolis.

Community has grown from one to five hospitals under his tenure. His previous stints at six out-of-state hospitals included working as director of Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa., and chief executive of Akron General Medical Center in Ohio.
