Coventry Health Care, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: CVTY) today announced that it has completed the previously announced transaction providing for its acquisition of Maxicare Louisiana, Inc.

The transaction adds approximately 14,000 members and brings Coventry's total membership in Louisiana to approximately 55,000 members effective August 2000.
