Sirius says it's serious about local market.(News)(Sirius Financial Systems PLC, Australia)

GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY PROVIDER Sirius Financial Systems plc has announced its format entry into the Australasian insurance market.

To mark this, the company has appointed Stephen Browne to the new role of Regional Manager--Asia Pacific. Browne will operate from Sydney.

Sirius will focus its initial efforts on the Australian general insurance market, covering commercial lines and personal lines, wholesale and retail business.

It will prospect to insurance companies, underwriting agents and run-off business.

It will also work with New Zealand
