Spirent Communications is the "performance assurance" supplier
eNet's users will expect that their functionality, performance, reliability and security are assured. Spirent's pre- and post-deployment test equipment and services will help achieve this goal--from configuring and delivering the network to assuring its performance throughout the show.
The Spirent Global Services advanced test program team will set up $2 million in test equipment and provide hundreds of hours of professional services to the eNet effort. Spirent's Abacus 5000, Avalanche 2500, AX/4000, SmartBits test systems and QScopes will be employed.
As the eNet providers deploy their equipment, Spirent will employ performance, load and reliability tests to stress the network and its components with realistic traffic--including malicious net work attacks--to assure performance, security, reliability and interoperability, and validate the networks readiness to perform. Spirent's platforms will continue to monitor and analyze how eNet is meeting the conference's rigorous requirements during the show.
The Abacus 5000 IP telephony test system is a fully integrated VoIP and PSTN telephony test system in a single platform, with analog, time-division multiplexing and Ethernet interfaces for comprehensive and realistic testing. Abacus 5000 allows eNet to objectively measure voice quality under real-world voice stream load generation.
Avalanche load-testing appliances will enable stress testing of applications and security by generating large quantities of realistic user traffic and malicious attacks. Network and application performance is analyzed under heavy loads, enabling eNet to troubleshoot the network before a real-life failure occurs.
The AX/4000 broadband test system will provide testing of multiple transmission technologies, including ATM, IP, Frame Relay and Ethernet, simultaneously at speeds up to 10 Gbps. The scalable Landslide 2500 platform will provide a wide spectrum of wireless core infrastructure test solutions. Finally, the SmartBits network performance-analysis system will test, simulate, analyze, troubleshoot, develop and certify eNet infrastructure.
