Multichannel raceway
RACEWAY OFFERS SLEEK DESIGN and simplified installation. The InfoStream multichannel raceway features a unique, elliptically shaped profile that offers both a sleek appearance and also helps absorb the shock if the raceway is inadvertently struck. Infostream also speeds installation, as the raceway's hinged cover can be partially mounted prior to laying cables, forming a ledge to help prevent wires and cables from falling out during installation. Offering four separate channels for electrical, voice, data, and video or fiber-optic cabling, the raceway is UL listed to U.S. and Canadian standards. A unique offset elbow offers a solution for navigating around close corners. In addition to the available InfoStream specific fittings, boxes, faceplates and jacks, all NEMA standard faceplates work with the raceway system.--Hellermann Tyton

Wired office furniture
FURNITURE WITH INTEGRATED FIBER-OPTIC CABLING provides a modular wiring solution for networked offices. Allsteel office furniture can now include a modular fiber-optic cabling solution, providing a simplified, flexible and technology-ready voice and data solution that can be fully integrated into panel-based system furniture. Multiple workstations can be connected to a single consolidation hub that serves as a junction point between the telecommunications closet and the desktop. The cabling from the hub to the desktop is preterminated in 10', 30' and 50' lengths. The preterminated fiber-optic cabling reduces one of the most time-consuming and labor-intensive steps of a fiber installation, making it easy to add or reconfigure multiple workstations within a cluster of up to 24 workstations.--Allsteel

Large-capacity poke-thru
OPEN SPACE, WIRE-MANAGEMENT ENCLOSURE offers a flush profile to provide an aesthetic and unobtrusive solution for new and retrofit applications. The Walker RC4 Series Poke-thru offers four multimedia or data communications ports, and two power receptacles. The enclosure has two dual-circuit 20-amp single-duplex receptacles wired on individual circuits with separate neutral and ground wires. It also has a nonmetallic bracket that accepts modular connectors for UTP, fiber-optic, coaxial, video and audio connections. Individual slide covers snap in place when power receptacles are not in use, to prevent dirt and debris from entering the system. Installation is simple and quick, without requiring additional fasteners or a second installer. Cover plate flanges and slide holders are available in black, ivory or brass.--The Wiremold Co.

Server rack
HEAVY-DUTY STEEL RACK holds multiple servers. The Technical Furniture Systems Server Station combines a fixed server shelf on the bottom of the unit, and up to five additional 18" deep shelves for other server units. Available in both 24" and 30" widths, the rack can support three tower CPUs and five desktop CPUs in just over five square feet. Cross-support members and vertical wire guides provide cable management. The rack is available in two standard powder coat finishes--light gray or bone white.--Datum Filing Systems

Optical slicers
TRANSPORT UP TO 800 CHANNELS over a single fiber. The PolarWave Optical Slicer AQ/ BQ interleave filters are for multiplexing and demultiplexing applications in long-haul DWDM optical networks. The flexible platforms support optical channel spacing as low as 12.5 GHz and narrower. The slicers split an incoming DWDM spectrum into two or more complementary sets of periodic spectra. This simplifies the wavelength routing process, enabling the simultaneous filtering of hundreds of usable wavelengths across wide spectral bands. The AQ and BQ filters deliver high channel isolation and wide passband performance, as well as ultralow dispersion characteristics.--Chorum Technologies

Fiber switches
FIBER-OPTIC PRISM SWITCHES provide a durable connection. The SPSN-9 and MPSM-62 switches feature low insertion loss and an operational life of greater than 10 million cycles. The 1x2 single-mode and multimode fiber-optic switches are two-position devices that enable channel selection. The 2x2 nonblocking, single-mode and multimode fiber-optic switches are fully reversing optical bypass switches, which are used to insert or bypass nodes in fiber ring networks. Both types of switches are nonlatching components that require a 5 V DC switching voltage The switches use a moving prism between fixed collimator pairs, which allows bidirectional operation independent of data rate and signal format. Jacketed fiber pigtails, one meter long, are available on all models. In addition, optional ST, FC and SC fiber connector termination options can be added.--Newport

Flexible cabinet design
QUICK RECONFIGURATION of an equipment cabinet is now possible in the field. The Co-location Cabinets from Hoffman are fully field-configurable to simplify installation of equipment. The enclosures feature a reversible hinge and latching system, rack angles that adjust from front to back, vertically adjustable inside barriers, and additional door mounting holes. The new cabinets have a low-profile latching system and multiple keying options for maximum individual server security. Electrical outlets on the power side and jacks on the data side optimize cable management. The cabinets are available with a fully perforated front door or a vented-window front door.--Hoffman

Small raceway
NONMETALLIC SURFACE RACEWAY offers a simple cabling solution. The MediaTrak 6 (MT6) is a small, one-piece raceway with a double-latching cover. The MT6 system is fast and easy to install, and suitable for use with either communications or power cabling. For data cabling alone, the raceway will accommodate up to four Category 5e cables, while remaining within cable-fill requirements. The raceway features a 1.25" minimum bend radius, meeting all copper and fiber jumper cable bend requirements. Outlet boxes are available in single- and double-gang versions, The single-gang boxes are available in shallow, standard and deep depths, and accept both standard FPL plates and the flush MTP plates. The deep box will accommodate fiber, video and coax connections. All double-gang boxes are deep. The raceway is tamper resistant and is UL listed for use up to 600 V. The MT6 system is available with or without adhesive., and the channel is marked with red indicators to suggest 16" centers.--Hubbell
