"Campaigns & Elections" magazine sold to new company.

Political World Communications, Inc. (PWC; Plainsboro, NJ), a new company formed by private investors from the publishing industry, has acquired "Campaigns & Elections" magazine and related assets from VoteNet Solutions (Washington, D.C.) in an all cash transaction. No other terms were given.

Established in 1980 by Stanley Foster Reed, "Campaigns & Elections" is published ten times a year for a paid circulation of over 20,000 federal, state and local elected officials, candidates for public office, party activists, issue campaigners, political consultants, campaign staff, lobbyists, PAC directors, academics, journalists and related professionals. The magazine covers "the strategies, techniques and personalities of modern politics," PWC said. It is the only non-partisan publication for the political campaign and public affairs industry.

Content for the magazine includes feature articles on such topics as the effects of immigration, micro-targeting, direct mail and negative campaigning, as well as regular coverage of voting matters, consultants, online developments, organizations, political developments, lobbying, state-by-state developments and international politics.

In addition to the magazine, PWC has also acquired a related seminar training program, "Campaign Insider," a weekly newsletter, "Political Pages," an annual directory of campaign and public affairs consultants, and the CampaignLine.com web site. The magazine's operations will remain in Washington, D.C.
