"Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine" from AASM.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM; Westchester, IL) has begun the publication of "Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine," a new quarterly title that publishes papers with an emphasis on the direct applicability and/or relevance to the clinical practice of sleep medicine. An annual subscription

costs $30 for individuals and $45 for institutions.

AASM said the journal carries manuscripts of clinical trials, clinical reviews, clinical commentary and debate, information on medical economic/practice issues, and case reports and case series, as well as proceedings from conferences and workshops sponsored by related industry and other organizations related to improving the practice of sleep medicine.

Editorial in initial issues include articles on: driving while sleepy as a criminal offense; treatment of sleep apnea; the association between obesity and sleep deprivation; sedating medications; test measurements; and narcolepsy treatments. AASM also publishes "Journal Sleep," a monthly paid circulation title, and "AASM Bulletin," a quarterly newsletter.
