Biology and medical publisher Landes Bioscience (Georgetown, TX) has begun the publication of two new journals, including "Autophagy" and ""Human Vaccines," and will launch three new journals in early 2006 including "Calcium Binding Proteins," Epigenetics" and "Plant Signalling."
"Autophagy,"
Published six times a year, "Human Vaccines" was launched earlier this year to cover the increasing prominence of vaccines in medical professions. Content includes coverage of discovery, research, enabling technologies, product development, clinical studies, policy, safety, commercial utilization, therapeutic vaccines, infectious disease targets and noninfectious disease targets, including cancer, allergies and autoimmunity. A combined print/online subscription costs $129.
"Calcium Binding Proteins" will be launched with a January issue to focus on the structure and function of calcium binding proteins and their association with calcium. To be produced quarterly, the title will carry information on the role of calcium binding proteins both inside and outside the cell and their regulation of disease processes. A combined print/online subscription costs $129.
"Epigenetics" will be published six times a year beginning with a January/February issue. Landes said the journal will cover epigenetics in its broadest interpretation to provide a comprehensive view of epigenetic modification, which spans biological systems and diseases. It will be targeted to researchers in a range of fields, including general biology, plant biology, cancer biology, neurobiology, cancer therapeutics and psychiatry. A combined print/online subscription costs $129.
Finally, "Plant Signalling & Behavior" will be produced six times a year beginning with a January/February issue. Content will cover molecules and organelles, tissues and organs, signal perception, plant and biotic environment, and information processing and acquisition. A combined print/ online subscription costs $129.
Existing Landes journals include "Annexins," "Cancer Biology & Therapy," "Cell Cycle," "Organogenesis" and "RNA Biology." The company has plans to launch as many as 17 additional journals through the end of 2007, including such titles as "NanoMedicine," "Molecular Motors," "Tissue Regeneration" and "Digital Signalling & Processing in Medicine ' & Biology."
