The Center for New York City Law (New York), an affiliate of New York Law School, has begun the production of Cityland, a new title published 11 times a year that reports on decisions from all the major New York City land use agencies. An annual subscription costs $400.

The new publication

is being targeted to real estate developers, attorneys, city officials and professionals involved in zoning, quality-of-life, preservation and a range of other issues. The Center said the title offers a "unique opportunity for enhanced participation in the City's land use process." Editorial will focus on city planning, landmarks, BSA, and developments at the New York City Council and the Department of Buildings.

The first issue included articles on: City Planning Commission decisions on sidewalk cafes, landmark status and bidding processes; Board of Standards & Appeals decisions on special permits, redevelopment and a rezoning for a hospital-related facility; Landmark Preservation Commission decisions on the Murray Hill district, the Dakota apartments and streetscape changes near the NYSE; and, a court decision on a tenant issue at South Street.

The Center's mission is to provide information and analysis on the laws and legal processes that govern New York City. The organization produces CityLaw, a 24-page, bi-monthly journal, CityRegs, a bi-weekly faxed newsletter, annual reports, monographs, events and seminars.
