Philips Consumer Electronics has closed deals with six internet radio and music providers for its new internet radio named Streamium MC-1 200, stated the company at the American technology-expo CES
Philips new partners, AOL Music, Andante, MP3.com, Musicmatch, Radio Free Virgin and iM Networks will link their online radio and music services via broadband internet to an apparatus. The box resembles an ordinary portable radio, but has three interfaces through which users can choose the country, language, station and music style they would like to hear.
The partners provide and display information about the streamed music on the radio. In addition, the Stremium links to an existing worldwide music database CDDB, which provides information about the streamed CD-tracks.
Stremium is the second internet radio Philips is bringing to market and should be available commercially by summer this year. ((Distributed via M2 Communications Ltd - http://www.m2.com))
