National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)

established in India in 1994 to provide a more transparent alternative to The Stock Exchange, Mumbai. The NSE is a national exchange integrating the country's stock markets through nationwide automated on-line screen operations and electronic clearing and settlement. The exchange's products include equities, exchange-traded funds, stock futures, index futures, interest rate futures and options. The S&P CNX Nifty, a diversified 50-stock index representing 23 sectors of the Indian economy, is among the exchange's major indices. www.nseindia.com.
