What Is the Right Way to Hire Advisors?

* From  Date: Wednesday, February 21 2007

When the time comes to look for a trusted business advisor, such as an attorney or accountant, ask other small business owners for referrals. Ask these owners if their advisors offer useful advice on how to operate a small business, if they trust them and if they are experts in their field. It's also smart to find out how easy these advisors are to reach, particularly in an emergency. Once you have a list together, make sure you interview at least two candidates before hiring.
