CORPORATE IT UPDATE-(C)1995-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
IT research, advisory services and strategic consulting provider META Group Inc has predicted that there will be increased spending on intrusion detection systems in the future.
The company has made an analysis of purchase intents and found that there is short-term interest in network and host intrusion detection and a long-term interest in several types of intrusion detection. A spokesperson for META Group said that companies are beginning to realise the value of intrusion detection technologies.
META Group goes on to claim that any company that does not deploy some level of intrusion detection could experience increased liability by not meeting a standard of due care.
