I am so proud of Working Mother Media's Best Companies for Women of Color initiative, of the winning companies we feature in this issue and of the way so many women come together at our events. More than 2,000 women-of all colors-have come to our multicultural town halls and conferences in Atlanta,
We have all been so moved by the personal stories women have shared. Claire Chow wove the story of her lost identity as an Asian girl growing up in Princeton, NJ. An African-American CEO, Renetta McCann, told about being taken for waitstaff at an event being held in her honor! Diana Palomar, a Latina in Chicago, described her strong bond with her parents. And Pamala Silas related how painful it can be when the sacred days of Native-American employees conflict with the daily needs of corporate America.
Nearly 60 companies have supported this initiative, and I am grateful to each one. Additionally, hundreds of companies have sent employees to our events. Ask your company to send you to our Best Companies for Women of Color Multicultural Conference on July 20-21 in New York City. Our theme is Trust: A Business and Cultural Imperative. Please email me at carolevans@workingmother.com if you want more information. Pd love to welcome you there!

I also want to wish my husband and my dad a great Father's Day. The best gift my father ever gave me was the love of travel. Our family spent two weeks every year seeing the USA in our Chevrolet. And because my dad was such a great planner, I had been to nearly all the lower 48 states by the time I was 17. What a wonderful gift that was. Thanks, Dad. I love you!
