Have You Considered a Virtual Assistant?

Friday, September 15 2006

If you work by your self or in a small company there are probably times every day that you wish you had an administrative assistant that could help you deal with the mundane tasks that you have to do that just seem to take up a ridiculous amount of time. Filing, writing basic letters, preparing mailings or making travel arrangements are things that have to be done, but chances are that they aren´t the best use of your time. The problem, of course, is that many individual business people or small businesses are not in the position to hire someone full time or even part time to do them. In some cases it is a problem with the cost of the new staff person, while in others it is simply a matter of space or logistics that don´t make bringing someone else in possible. In all of those cases a virtual assistant may be just the thing you need.

A virtual assistant is an administrative professional who works out of their own home or office. You can connect with them via the phone or the internet, and many of them can be hired for just a couple of hours a week if that´s all you need. They are professionals with a well equipped office and the skills and resources to take care of the tasks that you need to get done. That way, instead of spending your time stuffing sales material into envelopes you can instead spend yourtime developing the material to go into the next batch of envelopes, or closing the sales that are generated by the mailings. It only makes sense.

A virtual assistant also solves the logistical and cost problems that may have stopped you from bringing someone in. You don´t need to make any space or provide them with any infrastructure. You don´t have to pay their health insurance or taxes or any other benefits a normal employee may need. All you do it pay them a simple hourly rate and you are set. Further, you don´t have to go through the hassle of hiring someone and making sure that they are qualified, and you are dealing with someone who is an experienced professional that can hit the ground running.

A virtual assistant may be the perfect investment in productivity that will help you get more done and grow your business.
