The Hylant Group has announced the formation of Hylant Financial Services, a new business division designed to help individuals with personal financial planning. Paul M. Abendroth has been named president of Hylant Financial Services, which will begin operations immediately.
According to the
Abendroth, a northwest Ohio native, earned a BS in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. Prior to joining the Hylant Group, he was an assistant vice president and financial consultant for Merrill Lynch in Toledo.
In addition, John Ostrosky will join Hylant Financial Services as an account executive working closely with Abendroth. Ostrosky, a former Evans Scholar, earned a BS in Business Administration from Miami (Ohio) University. Prior to joining the Hylant Group, he was a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch.
When asked for comment, Patrick R. Hylant, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Hylant Group, stated, "As we look for ways to help our clients with their various needs, it was obvious to us that we should move beyond our core services. With the addition of the team of Paul and John to the Hylant Group, we are now able to offer sophisticated financial planning resources to individuals, especially those business owners and others with whom we have already established strong working relationships. We will take the Hylant tradition of superior service and sound advice into this new area, and we look forward to helping our clients with their personal financial planning in the months and years to come."
In other news, the Hylant Group announced that Marc Holland has been elected a vice president of the Property & Casualty division of the company. As he continues working with selected clients, his new duties will include training and supervising the account representatives and account executives in the Property & Casualty unit.
Holland joined the Hylant Group in 1987, after working for eleven years as a field underwriter for The Hartford Insurance Group. As an account executive with Hylant, Holland specializes in the insurance needs of the construction industry, large and middle market manufacturing and environmental firms.
A native of Westfield, New Jersey, Holland graduated with a BA from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. He currently holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
Commenting on the promotion, Richard C. Hylant, president of Hylant Group Toledo, stated, "With his experience, thorough knowledge of the industry and his natural sales and marketing skills, we are happy to have Marc assume his new leadership position. We know he'll continue to serve our Property and Casualty clients well. He will lead his P&C team by example."
The Hylant Group also announced that Jackie J. Hylant has joined the Hylant Group as a program manager for the franchise marketing area of the company. Hylant's main area of responsibility will be to supervise the sale of various insurance and employee benefits programs to national franchise organizations.
A graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Economics, Hylant' professional experience includes the Jardine Lloyd Thomson insurance group in London, the Commercial Risk Division of AIG Chicago, and the media buying group of Leo Burnett in Chicago.
Hylant is the fourth generation of her family to work for the company, founded in 1935 by her great-grandfather, Edward P. Hylant. When commenting on working for a multi-generational business, she stated, "I am happy to be working at the family business and proud of the growth that it has experienced while my father has been at the helm. I hope that I and the rest of the next generation can nurture it as successfully as my greatgrandfather, grandfather and father have."
