American Podiatric Medical Association Awards Crocs Rx[TM] Its Seal of Acceptance
NIWOT, Colo. -- According to the American Diabetes Association, nearly seven percent of the U.S. population is suffering from diabetes. Crocs Rx[TM], the medical division of Crocs, Inc. (NASDAQ: CROX), today announced the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) has awarded the entire Crocs Rx[TM] line its Seal of Acceptance based on a myriad of podiatric standards. The Crocs Rx[TM] line was developed with input from footwear specialists, and includes shoes and socks designed for people with specific medical and therapeutic, podiatric conditions, many of which are associated with diabetes.
Crocs Rx[TM] is quickly becoming a leader in medical shoe sales. Over 3,000 doctors either recommend shoes from the Crocs Rx[TM] line to their patients or distribute Crocs Rx[TM] models directly through their offices.
"Crocs Rx shoes are a comfortable, yet fashionable footwear alternative for people who suffer from foot pain," said APMA President Christian Robertozzi. "Whether treating a patient with plantar fasciitis, diabetic ulcerations, bunions or general foot pain, Crocs Rx's unique design can offer patients' feet relief from pain, as well as protection."
The Crocs Rx[TM] line includes three distinctive styles, the Relief (MSRP: $39.99), Cloud (MSRP: $39.99) and Silver Cloud (MSRP: $49.99). All three styles combine specialized features to reduce podiatric discomfort, including Crocs' proprietary Croslite[TM] material which conforms to the foot to create a truly customized fit.
The Relief model, designed with an ultra soft sole and wide toe, provides therapeutic relief for a number of foot conditions, including pressure relief from plantar fasciitis, bunions, heel pain, and arthritis. The Cloud shoe model is specially designed with the diabetic patient in mind, featuring a super-soft footbed, roomy toe bed, protective front toe cap and elevated heel. The Silver Cloud, impregnated with silver particles, includes all of the benefits of the Cloud diabetic comfort shoe, plus the added protection of being anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, making it an ideal shoe for those with impaired circulation or sensation. Diabetic and arthritic patients can also find comfort in the Crocs Rx[TM] Orthocloud sock, offering padded protection in key areas of sensitivity for both conditions.
