Pediatric Promise Goes Unfulfilled at Orlando, Fla., Hospital.

Jul. 2--Born in Orlando, little Valerie Gravanda got all her medical care from local doctors until a hole was discovered between two chambers of her heart earlier this year.

Blood was sloshing from one chamber to the other, slowly damaging her 4-year-old heart. To get it fixed, Valerie's parents took her to Tampa a few weeks ago for surgery -- just as dozens of Central Florida families have done in the past year for serious heart problems.
