Media choice

As a dermatology fellow trained in skin cancer surgery, my primary area of expertise is cutaneous surgical oncology. To that end, I read with interest Dermatologic Surgery, the official publication of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery

and Cutaneous Oncology. This journal presents the latest bench and clinical research as well as practical surgical pearls and discussions of techniques and reconstructive strategies.

For often-groundbreaking research or clinical case reports, I review the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Virtually every dermatologist reviews this monthly publication, affectionately known as the "Blue Journal" due to its midnight-blue cover. It's also available online at www.eblue.org. Since my office has gone electronic, my need and desire to access the literature by those means is evolving concurrently.
