Health plans morph as CDH demand grows.

The trend toward consumer-driven health care does not signal an end to traditional managed care and preferred provider plans, but it is changing how these plans' providers do business.

Carriers are aware of the shifting market trends and are making adjustments to their HMO and PPO offerings while simultaneously introducing CDH offerings in greater numbers for 2005, according to the results of the Milliman 2004 Group Health Insurance Survey.

The survey shows that 89% of HMOs and PPOs serving the large group market will offer a CDH product to employers in 2005,
