Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS), the nation's leading health care cost management company, achieved an industry milestone by adding the 400,000th provider to its PPO Network.
PHCS, which owns and operates the largest proprietary PPO in the country, contracted with 25,000 new providers in 2003. Cara Kaupp, MD, a board-certified pediatrician from Nashua, New Hampshire, officially became the 400,000th provider added to the PHCS Network on December 1, 2003. To recognize her landmark status, PHCS Chief Marketing Officer James Herrington and Russ Moran, Executive Vice President, Networks, presented Dr. Kaupp with an award at a recent ceremony at her practice.
"We are very proud to honor Dr. Kaupp as our 400,000th provider," said Russ Moran. "Her experience in pediatrics and commitment to quality care are excellent additions to our network. The PHCS Network grew tremendously this year and based on our success, we are now setting our sights on reaching the 500,000th provider mark."
Dr. Kaupp is a pediatrician at Partners in Pediatrics in Nashua, New Hampshire. Her practice is part of Foundation Medical Partners, a multi-specialty physician group affiliated with Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and served her residency at Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
"I am pleased to be the 400,000th PHCS provider," said Dr. Kaupp, "understanding that such a large number signifies even greater access to health care for PHCS members. PHCS has a sound reputation for quality and integrity and I'm looking forward to a long relationship with them."
