Apr. 23--Warren-based St. John Health is converting its hospital in northeast Detroit into a community campus that the health-care company hopes will offer primary care, acute long-term care, senior housing, substance abuse counseling, as well as other social services.

St. John NorthEast Hospital, a 295-bed facility that sits on about 14 acres at East Outer Drive near Van Dyke, will be converted into a campus called Conner Creek Village, St. John Health announced Thursday.
