ASSISTED-LIVING COMPETITION SET TO HEAT UP IN WESTLAKE.

The Eliza Jennings Group, a nonprofit operator of several local nursing homes, is ready to go up against a for-profit corporation in the long-term care business in Westlake.

Eliza Jennings has teamed up with a developer on a plan to build a $7 million assisted-living center in that western suburb, not far from an assisted-living center opened last month by Marriott International Inc.

"There's going to be intense competition between a number of different players," said Deborah Lewis Hiller, president and chief executive officer for the Eliza Jennings Group. "
