Give it a whirl

Whirl-Pak sample bags are made from blended, virgin, low-density polyethylene, giving the bags two important characteristics: (1) exceptionally clear film that is easy to see through and (2) superior strength. All bags feature puncture-proof tabs, eliminating sharp points. By whirling or tightly folding the tab over three times, the Whirl-Pak bag becomes a leak-proof container. Safe blood management

Temperature, not time, is the standard for blood management. To that end, Safe-T-Vue is a nonreversible temperature indicator that changes color from white to red when blood reaches 10[degrees] C. As long as the indicator remains white, blood may safely be reissued. Designed to attach directly to blood bags, Safe-T-Vue is suited for use by blood banks and transfusion services to maintain quality control in the transport of blood. These indicators improve quality assurance by specifically showing whether blood may be reissued when returned and by promoting requirements of accountability during transport.
