Mobile Decontamination System Emits Ultraviolet Light to Purify Surfaces

Looking for an easy way to decontaminate surfaces, stop the spread of infectious disease, and enhance indoor air quality? Just wheel a Remedial In-Room Decontamination System (RIDS) into enclosed areas.

The system emits UVC (ultraviolet light in the "C" spectrum) to remove mold, viruses, or

bacteria from walls, tabletops, and similar surfaces. Ideal for removing viruses that can spread colds, avian (bird) flu. measles, and other disease, as well as bacteria such as Salmonella, Legionella, E. coli, or tuberculosis microorganisms.

Made by Steril-Aire, Inc., based in Burbank, CA, the system can decontaminate a 12- by 12-ft. area in about 24 hrs. Applications include public buildings, health-care facilities, or laboratories.

The UVC technology uses no chemicals, produces no ozone or other toxic contaminants, and reduces worker exposure during the decontamination process.
