SBA is proposing to increase the size standard for the Facilities Support Services industry.
SBA is proposing to increase the size standard for the Facilities Support Services industry, NAICS code 561210, to $30 million in average annual receipts, from $6 million.
The proposed rule would also increase the size standard for the sub-category of Base Maintenance to $30 million
SEA said the increase is justified because of the growing size of contracts for facilities support services and the small share of those contract dollars going to small firms. The agency said small businesses received only 12% of the dollar value of facilities support contracts over the past 10 years, and two-thirds of those contracts went to 8(a) firms.
The proposed rule is FR Doc. 03-2455, published in the Feb. 3 Federal Register. Comments are due by April 4.
