Across Memphis' great racial divide.

A majority of White middle-class in Memphis appear to have fundamental misconceptions about the economic circumstances of African-Americans, according to a poll conducted by the Tri-State Defender.

The survey, based primarily on results of a recent national survey conducted by the Washington Post, Kaiser Family Foundation and Harvard University, varies only slightly from the national poll, but clearly demonstrates that White Americans in Memphis see African-Am
