MEXICO: CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR PROPOSED 250 MILLION LB PER YEAR POLYTRIMETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

SHELL CHEMICAL CO. currently operates a polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) plant in Point Pleasant, WVA. The factory in question has a current installed production capacity of 15 million lbs per year. And, the company recently announced that it was gearing-up to increased its production output of PTT, which is marketed under the trade name of Corterra, by 30 million lbs per year. PTT is a thermoplastic that can be spun into both fibers and yarn.
