Who Provides Information on Government Agency Regulation Compliance?

* From  Date: Monday, January 7 2008

When working with a government agency, your company must comply with all applicable federal government regulations. First, consult one of the various federal regulatory agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, or the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.

These agencies publish small-business guides that answer questions about regulations and can help your company meet the terms of the regulations that pertain to agency-level procedures.

The Web site regulations.gov is a good place to research various federal regulations, as is the Federal Register, which provides a daily publication of rules and regulations as they relate to different agencies and organizations. Finally, if you're having problems complying with overly strict government regulations, the Small Business Ombudsman might also be able to help.
