IMAGE PHOTOGRAPH1CoreStreet's First Responder handheld units, developed for the Department of Homeland security, can be used to set up an electronic perimeter on the fly. Personnel can use the units in emergency situations to validate each person going in and
out of an area without slowing down access. The First Responder requires no regular connection hack to a central database. It can store privilege information for 5 million people in the form of a compressed validation list. The device synchronizes in about five seconds with CoreStreet's credential validation authority service, which runs on a secure, remote server. First Responder is expected to be available as part of a complete system later this year.
