AFFILIATED SERVICES INC.: VETERANS ADHERE TO THE PROGRAM

Staying ahead of the regulation curve is not a difficult one for Affiliated Services Inc. and its three partners: Rob Weltner, Craig Schamburg and Clif Syms. Formed by long-term management veterans from several of the security industry's largest companies, combined, these three security dealer integrators

The company received its UL2050 National Industrial Security Systems certification which allows them to issue UL CRZH certificates for government contractor Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) alarm systems. According to the partners, they are well versed in SCIF. A SCIF is a highly secure office space that is usually requested by government agency contractors who work in tandem with the Department of Defense.

TIMING AND LOCATION

The three security veterans signed their business partnership agreement in July 2001. The ensuing chaos that followed in the months after the start of business went in Afiiliated Services favor as the company transformed from subcontractors to a full-service security system integration company. "Two months before 9-11 was when we decided to launch our security business. We began as subcontractors to the larger area contractors and then 9-11 hit and we were truly unsure of the future for several months to come," explains Rob Weltner, one of the founders of Affiliated Services.
