City of Portland and Multnomah County look to fill east panel

The city of Portland and Multnomah County are seeking members for an East Portland Action Plan committee, an effort to improve livability and address issues in the area east of Interstate 205.

The East Portland Action Committee was convened by Mayor Tom Potter, state Rep. Jeff Merkley

(D-Portland) and county Chairman Ted Wheeler. It will meet monthly from late October 2007 to May 2008 with subcommittees that may meet more frequently.

Citizens are encouraged to apply and should complete and return an application by Oct. 12.

Applications are available at the East Portland Neighborhood Office at 1017 N.E. 117th Ave. or atwww.portlandonline.com/ planning.
