Growing area sees need for trees.

Feb. 24--Trees often are a casualty of growth and development, but area officials say they hope to reverse that trend.

A tree planting in Prattville is one symbolic step in that direction.

Fourth-graders from Prattville Christian Academy took up shovels Friday to help plant a snow goose cherry tree behind Prattville City Hall.

The planting of the tree was in recognition of Arbor Week, which Alabama celebrates the last full week of February.
