Plans to Extend Sacramento, Calif., Rail to Federal Building Worries Officials.

Dec. 23--In a terse letter citing security concerns at the downtown federal courthouse, U.S. officials say they oppose a Sacramento Regional Transit plan for a light-rail line behind the federal building.

The letter, delivered last week, follows an earlier written request from Chief Judge David Levi that the city's expanded downtown transit center and new rail lines be built "at an appreciable distance from the courthouse."
