Spokane County, Wash., Officials Irked by City's Road Maintenance Cuts.

Jan. 8--A Spokane Valley plan to slash its road maintenance budget by one-third this year is ruffling some feathers at the Spokane County Courthouse.

Spokane Valley contracts with the county for its road maintenance work. Council members voted last year to reduce that contract from a 2003 level of about $3.1 million to about $2.1 million.
