Lake County, Fla., Considers More Home-Development Impact Fees.

Oct. 7--TAVARES, Fla.--Building a new home in Lake County may get more expensive under a new proposal to raise impact fees for fire protection, libraries and parks.

The plan is to raise the impact fee for fire and rescue services from its current $130 rate to a maximum level of $410 for a single-family home.

The fees would help pay for building or expanding fire stations in the county.
