ESA to challenge Californian video game law.(REGULATION)

US home entertainment industry bodies, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA), have launched a legal bid to overturn California's recently enacted Violent Video Games Act.

The legislation, passed by the state's governor in October 2005, requires all games that depict 'heinous, cruel, or depraved' violence to be clearly labelled as 'violent', and prohibits retailers selling such titles to under 18s, under threat of large fines.
