Online Updates Will Provide a Written and Visual History of the
State's Responsibilities as 2002 Olympic Winter Games Host
In less than two weeks, Utah Governor
The new site offers up-to-the-minute news and images of the State of Utah's official activities during the Games. The governor, along with lieutenant governor, first lady, and cabinet, will host visiting dignitaries, heads of state, and other guests. "Governor's Olympics FYI" is part of Utah.gov's "Olympics For Locals" feature that provides comprehensive information and links to help Utah citizens and businesses prepare for the Olympics.
"The 2002 Winter Games are a tremendous milestone for the State of Utah, and I want to ensure that this extraordinary experience is shared," said Governor Leavitt. "I can't think of a better place to do this than Utah.gov, where so much information about the Olympics is already available."
The dynamic site will be updated daily as events unfold and as breaking news occurs.
"We want this site to function as a written and visual history of this once-in-a-lifetime event," said Natalie Gochnour, Deputy for Policy and Communications for Governor Leavitt. "The site will be updated each day with fresh photographs and stories, and content from all previous days will also be available in a clickable archive."
