WHAT: State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell will
be joined by city officials, education experts and students
during an inaugural celebration
on the UCLA campus. This is the
fourth of six stops that O'Connell is making throughout
California this month as he aggressively reaches out to the
education community to outline the goals for his administration
and solicit feedback. O'Connell was elected to serve as
California's 26th superintendent of public instruction on Nov. 5
after serving two decades in the California Legislature.
