Fireworks Sales Fizzle in Manatee County, Fla., in Contrast to National Trend.

Jul. 4--BRADENTON, Fla. -- Sales of fireworks weren't booming at the tent on Cortez Road on Thursday afternoon but the Rev. Andrew Gritt hadn't lost hope or faith.

"I'm praying for good sales," said Gritt, the children's pastor at The Tabernacle, an interdenominational church in Sarasota. "People always procrastinate and then there's a rush in the end."
