Computer Associates Chief Under Fire; No Clear Successor Viewed.

Apr. 21--Over the past six months, more than a dozen top executives at Computer Associates International have either resigned or been fired, leaving a leadership vacuum at the giant software company as it continues to be wracked by federal investigations into its accounting practices.

Sanjay Kumar, Computer Associates' chief executive, is now himself the subject of debate among the company's board members, who are wrestling with whether the 42-year-old software industry vet
