Apr. 2--California legislators are among a bipartisan group pushing for tighter federal restrictions on the dumping of sewage from cruise ships.
Rep. Sam Farr, D-Monterey, was one of three congressmen to introduce new legislation on Thursday aimed at preventing cruise vessels from discharging sewage within 12 miles of U.S. shores and cleaning up the sewage they dump beyond 12 miles.
