New Jersey Governor Set to Sign Bill to Legalize Stem-Cell Research.

Dec. 16--New Jersey is set to become one of only a few states to legalize embryonic stem cell research after the state Assembly passed a controversial bill Monday that allows the practice.

"This is an extraordinarily significant day," said Assemblyman Neil Cohen, D-Union, the bill's sponsor. "Scientists will now come to New Jersey, as Thomas Edison did years ago. Scientists will flood this state to develop and research these issues."
